What is the PCI Certified Scanning Service & why do I need it?
If your business processes, transfers, or stores credit card information, you have a responsibility to make sure this data is secure and protected. The PCI Certified Scanning Services provided by TBG Security will provide you with Automated Quarterly and On-Demand PCI Vulnerability Scans as well as Full Vulnerability Remediation Support from Certified Security Specialists.
The payment card industry’s response to the overwhelming number of credit card data thefts by hackers was the development of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). All organizations that capture, process, or store credit card data must demonstrate proof of compliance. Our PCI Certificated Scanning Service provides realtime analysis of your compliance status, so that you can successfully navigate and complete the PCI DSS requirements.
What do I need to do to meet the PCI standards?
The PCI standard comprises two basic steps:
- Pass quarterly remote vulnerability scans conducted by a Visa and MasterCard “Qualified Independent Scan Vendor” such as TBG Security. Scans are required for all Internet connection points whether they are office networks or home/office connections (dial-up, DSL, cable or wireless) or permanent Internet servers such as your web site and email server, etc.
- Successful completion of a security self-assessment questionnaire (PDF, 300kb, visa.com). The self assessment questionnaire asks specific questions about your internal security practices, both on your web site and in your office. TBG Security specialists provide the expertise to help you properly complete this form.
Who is this Service designed for?
This service is designed for Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 merchants with a dedicated server(s) or virtual server product.
